dr. Rownak Khan
UNICEF Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Rownak Khan is the UNICEF Representative in Bosnia
and Herzegovina, based in Sarajevo. In this
position, she is responsible for the overall
management of all of UNICEF’s work in Bosnia and
Herzegovina. Prior to her current appointment,
from 2014, Dr. Khan served as the Deputy
Representative in UNICEF Nepal, providing
strategic guidance, leadership, implementation and
monitoring of UNICEF supported programme including
humanitarian action. She has also served with
UNICEF Programme Division in New York
Headquarters, providing overall leadership in a
joint UNICEF, WHO and UNFPA Global Programme for
Elimination of Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus, in
Polio Eradication Programme in UNICEF
Headquarters, and implementing health and
nutrition programme in UNICEF Afghanistan. Dr.
Khan first joined UNICEF in 1996 as Project
Officer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dr. Khan is a
national of Bangladesh. She has a Master’s degree
in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene
and Tropical Medicine, London and a Bachelor’
degree in Medicine from Dhaka Medical College,
Bangladesh.
Prof. Dubravka Kocijan Hercigonja, PhD, MD
Neuropsychiatrist and psychotherapist
Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University
of Zagreb, neuropsychiatrist, subspecialist child
and adolescent psychiatry, psychotherapist,
retired. Born in 1938 in Pleškovac, Čakovec.
Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University
of Zagreb (1962), M.Sc. (1975), Ph.D. (1979),
title of dissertation: "Analysis of Causal factors
leading to psychological changes in people with
epilepsy". She worked at the Jankomir Psychiatric
Hospital where she founded the first Autism Center
in the former Yugoslavia. She was an advisor to
the Government of the Republic of Croatia and a
head of the psychosocial assistance program for
war victims. Established the Mental Health Center
in Children's Disease Hospital. Head of the
National Center for Psychotraum and Center for
Distressed Disorders. Now she works in her own
Polyclinic Kocijan / Hercigonja. She has published
66 papers. Author and Co-author of 14 books, 19
chapters in books. Some of the most important
awards: Life Achievement Award for Child Rights
Promotion (2008); Laureate for Contributing to
Psychotherapy in Croatia (2008); Medal of bravery
Katarina Zrinski. Regular member of AMZH since
1983. She is President of the European Association
for Therapeutic Services for Children and Young
People (EIATSCYP).
Prof. Gordana Buljan Flander. PhD
Clinical psychologist, psychoterapist
Prof. dr. Gordana Buljan Flander is the director
of the Child and Youth Protection Center of Zagreb
has been working with children for thirty years of
her career. As a child psychologist of Children’s
Hospital Zagreb, she often worked with abused and
neglected children who had not had the necessary
protection from adults. This is the reason why she
was among the first professionals in Croatia to
recognise the issue of child abuse and neglect and
to devote her further work to that issue. She is
the founder of the Brave Phone, help-line for
abused and neglected children and of the Child and
Youth Protection Center of Zagreb. The Center has
been recognised as a model of good practice by the
Council of Europe and was, as such, presented in
the UN. She received several awards of recognition
for her work. One of the outstanding achievements
was the Child Protection Center Multidisciplinary
team award received by the International Society
for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect
(ISPCAN) in 2008. Besides her professional work
she has been active in scientific work and
published and presented at international
conferences a number of scientific and
professional papers. She has published books,
handbooks and brochures for parents, children and
professionals. She is especially devoted to
disseminating her knowledge and experience to
future professionals and works at the Faculty of
Philosophy in Osijek and Croatian Studies in
Zagreb. She is a permanent court expert for abused
and neglected children
Prof. Esmina Avdibegović, PhD, MD
Neuropsychiatrist and psychotherapist
Neuropsychiatrist, Ph.D., Associate Professor at
the University of Tuzla was born in 1957. She
graduated in 1981 at the Faculty of Medicine in
Sarajevo. She ended her specialisation in
neuropsychiatry in 1991 in Sarajevo. At the
Faculty of Medicine University of Tuzla she took
her post graduating studies and obtained her
master’s degree in the field of suicidology, as
well as her Ph.D. which regarded a subject in the
field of women’s mental health. She is a
subspecialist in social psychiatry. She completed
a training for group analyst at the Institute for
group analysis in Zagreb. Currently, she works as
a psychiatrist and group analyst at the Clinic for
Psychiatry at the University Clinical Centre in
Tuzla. Moreover, she teaches at the Faculty of
Medicine, Educational – rehabilitation faculty and
the Department for social work at the Faculty of
Philosophy at the University of Tuzla. She
published several scientific and professional
papers, as well as several book chapters in the
field of psychiatry and neurology. She is a member
of several psychiatric and psychotherapy
associations. She is involved in the reform
processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina that regards
mental health services, engaged in strengthening
user’s organisations, and through non-governmental
organisations she is also involved in providing
support and help for victims and survivors of
genocide, torture and war trauma in Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
Karen Hillman Fried, Psy.D., M.F.T.
Psychotherapist
Karen Hillman Fried, Psy.D., M.F.T. is a licensed
marriage and family therapist and an educational
therapist in Santa Monica, California. Karen
operates her own private practice in
psychotherapy, provides consulting for adults
dealing with aging parents and elder care, and
co-directs The K&M Center, Inc., a mid-sized
educational center that has been helping students
remediate and overcome learning disabilities for
over twenty years. Karen is also one of the

Prof. Daniel J. Siegel, MD-PhD

Prof. Michael Ungar, PhD
Psychotherapist
Prof. dr. Michael Ungar is the founder and
Director of the Resilience Research Centre and
Canada Research Chair in Child, Family and
Community Resilience at Dalhousie University in
Halifax, Canada. He received his PhD in Social
Work from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1995 and
is the former Chair of the Nova Scotia Mental
Health and Addictions Strategy, executive board
member of the American Family Therapy Academy, and
a family therapist who works with mental health
services for individuals and families at risk. His
international program of research spanning six
continents has changed the way resilience is
understood, shifting the focus from individual
traits to the interactions between people and
their families, schools, workplaces, and
communities. He is the author of 14 books that
have been translated into five languages, numerous
manuals for parents, educators, and employers, as
well as more than 150 scientific papers and book

Prof. Milica Pejović Milovančević, MD-PhD
Specialist in Child Psychiatry
Prof. Dr. Pejović Milovančević is a child
psychiatrist from Belgrade, currently a professor
at the Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of
Medicine in Belgrade, where she teaches both on
undergraduate and postgraduate level. She has been
the organizer of the elective undergraduate course
called Child Abuse and Neglect since 2012. She is
the director of the Institute of Mental Health, as
well as the head of the Child and Adolescent
Clinic. Since 2001, she has been the permanent
member of the Institute’s team of experts on the
protection of children from abuse and neglect.
From 2010 to 2018, she was the president of the
Special Working Group of the Ministry of Health of
the Republic of Serbia on the implementation of
the Special protocol of the healthcare system in
the protection of children from abuse and neglect.
Until now, two versions of the Protocol have been
published, as well as three editions of the
Handbook on the Special Protocol Use, the latest
containing a whole chapter dedicated to the
phenomenon of parental alienation. As a leader,
lecturer and organizer, she took part in various
types of training aimed at educating the
professionals from the healthcare, education and
legal sector in order to improve their knowledge
and skills related to working with abused and
neglected children and adolescents. Among others,
she is cooperating with the Ministry of Health of
the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Education,
Science and Technological Development, as well as
UNICEF and the Child Rights Centre of Serbia.
Prof Dr Elmedin Muratbegović was born in Sarajevo
in 1972. He is the professor at the Faculty of
Criminology at the University of Sarajevo. Elmedin
Muratbegović provides services as a researcher,
expert or consultant in numerous national and
international governmental and non-governmental
projects. He is the author of several important
documents and laws that are listed as follows:
Private Agencies for the Protection of People and
Property Act in Federation of Bosnia and
Herzegovina (2003), The Code of Ethics for the
research with children and about children in
Bosnia and Herzegovina (2013), Guidelines for the
treatment of children in case of violence against
children in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2013),
Strategy for the treatment of children which are
in conflict with the law in Bosnia and Herzegovina
2010-2014, Strategy for the prevention of violence
against children 2012-2015, Protocol for
collecting data about violence against children
for shadow monitoring (2012), Strategy for the
suppression of human trafficking in Bosnia and
Herzegovina 2013-2015 and The Action Plan for the
improvement of child protection system against
child pornography and other forms of abuse through
information and communications technologies in
Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He is a national leader in developing systems of
care for children with significant behavioral
health issues. He is Chief of the Division of
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Director of
the Child Psychiatry Residency Program at Tufts
Medical Center. He is Professor of Psychiatry and
Pediatrics at Tufts School of Medicine. Dr.
Sargent is a clinician in the Massachusetts Child
Psychiatry Access Project, and is a member of the
Massachusetts Children's Behavioral Health
Advisory Council. He is also past president of the
American Family Therapy Academy. Dr. Sargent is
board certified in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Acc. prof. Mirsada Hukić, MD-PhD

Acc. Prof. Mirsada Hukić, PhD, MD, spec. of
microbiology Academician, prof. Mirsada Hukić is
born in Tuzla, specialist in microbiology and
member of the European Academy of Sciences. 1974
graduated from the Medical Faculty of the
University of Sarajevo. She specialized in medical
microbiology at the Medical Faculty of the
University of Sarajevo in 1981. In 1984, she
obtained a master's degree in medical sciences at
the Medical Faculty of the University of Tuzla,
and in 1992 she obtained the title of doctor of
medical sciences at the same faculty. In her rich
work experience, she went from a general
practitioner in the '70s, through the head of the
Department of Parasitology and Intestinal
Infection at the University Clinical Center Tuzla,
head of the Department of Microbiology in the' 90s
in Tuzla, and in 2003 head of the Institute of
Microbiology, immunology and parasitology of the
Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo.
Since 2003, he has been a full member of the
European Academy of Sciences (EAS), in the field
of biomedicine, and since 2012 a corresponding
member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of BiH.
She has dedicated years of professional training
in the field of immunology, bacteriology,
virology, in Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Serbia
and Croatia. She is a member of numerous
scientific and professional organizations and
associations in the country and the world, we will
single out: a representative of BiH within the
World Health Network. Professor Hukić is the
winner of the largest scientific award in Bosnia
and Herzegovina, the State Award for Science for
achievements in the field of science at the
international level, which was awarded by the
Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH for the first
time. She has published over 300 scientific and
professional papers, connected microbiologists of
Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world and made a
huge contribution to the study of Hantavirus.
Doc. Goran Arbanas, PhD-MD
Psychiatrist and psychotherapist
Dr. Goran Arbanas was born on September 6, 1970 in
Karlovac. He graduated from the Faculty of
Medicine, University of Zagreb, and specialized in
psychiatry. Dr. Arbanas completed postgraduate
studies in psychotherapy and training for forensic
experts. From the beginning (2004) he was involved
in the first education in Croatia in sexual
therapy. Dr. Arbanas has been dealing with issues
of sexuality as well as transgenderism and
transsexuality for the past fifteen years. He is
the president of the Croatian Society for Sexual
Therapy. He has translated fifteen books in the
field of psychiatry from English, for "Naklada
Slap". He is the author of textbooks and workbooks
in psychiatry for medical high schools. He is the
author of several professional and scientific
papers. Dr. Goran Arbanas is a member of Mensa. He
is married and the father of two daughters.
Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge
WHO Regional Director for Europe
Work as Deputy to the Federal Ministry of Health,
over twenty years of experience in public health,
policy development and strategy, and community
service. He specializes in field of mental health
development in BiH. Goran Čerkez has led the
mental health reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as
well as the establishing of Mental Health Services
in the community as the director of the World Bank
project in BiH. He participated in drafting the
Action Plan for Mental Health of World Health
Organization as the only expert in the region of
Southeast Europe. He worked on the mental health
strategy in BiH, development of standards and
norms for mental health centers, development of
accreditation standards, on the implementation of
coordinated care and occupational therapy in
mental health, on the development of psychosocial
disaster support guides, the development of a
matrix for the identification of the risk of
violence school population, prevention of
violence, as well as numerous other activities in
the field of mental health. He worked with IOM and
the Defense Ministry in BiH on the initiation of
psychologists in the armed forces. For the past
eight years he coordinated the mental health
project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, implemented by
XY, and supported by the Swiss government. Goran
Čerkez is a invited lecturer on topics related to
the development of mental health services at the
Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo, summer schools
for health management organized by the United
Nations Center for Peace, the Summer School for
social workers in Dubrovnik, as well as the
Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and
Security Studies about juvenile violence. He also
taught at Human Resources Development Week in the
World Bank. As a mental health expert he worked
with the World Bank, WHO, IOM and the Council of
Europe, ITF, UNICEF, UNFP, Harward Refugee Trauma,
the Southeast Europe Health Network and many NGOs.
In the area of mental health in the region of
Southeast Europe within the Stability Pact, he was
a member of the Executive Board of the project
"Strengthening Social Cohesion through Mental
Health Development". More than 15 years
representing Bosnia and Herzegovina in the
Southeastern Europe Network, where he has been
chairman of the executive committee for three
years. Honorary member of the Association of
Psychologists of FBiH. For contribution to the
development of quality in health care, the
development of accreditation standards in mental
health awarded by AKAZ, and recognition for the
development of health care in the Republic of
Moldova. The holder of awards for the development
of regional cooperation in South East Europe.
Doc. Bruna Profaca, PhD
Clinical psychologist
Clinical psychologist from the Child and Youth
Protection Center of Zagreb, institutions
specialized in working with traumatized children
and their families. The focus of her clinical and
research work is the area of stress, trauma,
traumatic loss and a crisis in childhood and
adolescence, parenting, emotional problems of
children and young people, as well as treatment
and counseling work with children and families.
She is an an external associate at the graduate
and postgraduate studies at several faculties of
the University of Zagreb and has collaborated on
several projects. She is also educator for
professionals who work with children in different
systems in Croatia and abroad. She has presented
and published a number of scientific and
professional papers and book chapters.
Prof. Nađa Marić Bojović, MD-PhD
Psychiatrist
Prof. dr. sc. Nađa Marić Bojović, MD Psychiatrist,
Head of the Department for Scientific Research and
Early Interventions in Psychiatry (since 2009) at
the Clinic for Psychiatry of the Clinical Center
of Serbia, scientific advisor and associate
professor at the Medical Faculty of the University
of Belgrade (since 2016). She is a member of the
Council of the Association of Psychiatrists of
Serbia, president of the Society for Biological
Psychiatry and a member of the Board of Directors
of the Serbian Brain Council. She received her PhD
in 2003 on the theme of structural neuroimaging in
the study of gender differences in schizophrenia.
She works on the improvement of diagnosis and
treatment of psychoses and mood disorders. She
advocates the introduction of methods of early
interventions in psychiatry and the development of
neuroscience. She is actively involved in several
international projects. She also takes part in
national projects: Phosphorylation of the
glucocorticoid receptor as a biomarker of mood
disorders (Ministry of Education and Science of
the Republic of Serbia - subproject manager);
Control of energy homeostasis in humans in various
pathological conditions (Ministry of Education and
Science of the Republic of Serbia-researcher);
Depression in schizophrenia, (Ministry of Science
and Technology, head Prof. Dr. M. Jašović-Gašić).
She has won several awards and recognitions:
Okasha Award for Developing Countries, World
Psychiatric Association (2005), AEP Research Award
for the best paper published by a young
psychiatrist (2004), Young Investigator Award,
International Congress on Schizophrenia Research
(2003), First Prize University of Belgrade for
student research (1991). In 2016, she acquired the
title of scientific advisor. As an author or
co-author, she has published 70 papers from the
SCI list, with about 1000 citations.
Prof. Mirjana Graovac, MD-PhD

analysis. In 2003 she defended her doctoral
dissertation at the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Psychiatric
Clinic, University Hospital Center Rijeka from
1998. Associate professor at Department of
psychiatry and psychological medicine at the
Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka and Faculty of
Health Studies in Rijeka (undergraduate, graduate
and postgraduate studies). Lecturer at the
postgraduate study of Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb.

dr. Ranka Kalinić, MD
Psychiatrist
Born in Banja Luka on March 8, 1965. year, where
she finished elementary school, high school and
medical school. Completed specialization in child
and adolescent psychiatry in Belgrade, as well as
education in psychodynamic psychotherapy for
children and young people. Since 2004, she has
been working at the Center for the Protection of
Mental Health in Banja Luka. At the Center, she
formed the first complete team for children and
youth (child psychiatrist, psychologist, graduate
social worker, special educator, speech therapist,
educated nurse) that provides services for
prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental
health disorders in children and youth, not only
for the city of Banja Luka but beyond. She has
invested exceptionally in the development and
improvement of intersectoral cooperation of all
entities involved in working with children and
youth (health, education and social sector), which
resulted with a series of cooperation. As part of
the promotion of mental health and prevention of
mental disorders of children and youth, she held
over 250 educational lectures and workshops for
students, parents and teachers in all primary and
secondary schools in the city of Banja Luka.
Participated in the project "Children and Youth in
the Balkans" and through 4 years of that work she
implemented the protocol on dealing with peer
violence in all primary and secondary schools in
the city of Banja Luka. She was a co-author of 3
manuals intended for parents and children in the
field of "Labyrinth of Puberty I", "Labyrinth of
Puberty II", "How to give birth to a healthy
child". While performing the function of the head
of CZMZ Banja Luka, she worked intensively on
improving the quality in providing services in the
field of mental health, better intersectoral
cooperation, intensive promotion of mental health
in the general population, which resulted in
accreditation of CZMZ teams. In the project
"Mental Health in BiH", she contributed to the
development of the nomenclature of services in
mental health, and I was hired as an educator to
employees of all Centers for the Protection of
Mental Health in BiH in the field of child and
adolescent psychiatry.
Mirela Badurina, PhD
Psychotherapist
Mirela Badurina, PhD, Gestalt Psychotherapist and
Child and Adolescent Integrative Psychotherapist,
was born in 1968 in Sarajevo. For the past
twenty-five years, she has focused her
professional and academic development on the areas
of health and well-being of children and young
people. She is an exhibitor at numerous national
and international congresses and conferences on
the topics of health, rights and interests of
children. She is the author and co-author of many
scientific and professional papers, and European
certified psychotherapist. Also, she is the
founder and director of the BHIDAPA Association
within which there are three centers: European
accredited educational programs in the field of
child and adolescent integrative psychotherapy and
counseling, Interdisciplinary therapeutic centers
for the protection of children, young people and
families, and a Scientific and professional
research center. She is the Chair of the
Organizing Committee International Congress of
Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and editor of
the Interdisciplinary Journal of Psychotherapy.

Dr. Giandomenico Bagatin
Psychotherapist
Giandomenico is a psychologist, psychotherapist,
psychotherapy international trainer and author
from Trieste, Italy. He's founder and director of
Gestalt Play Therapy Italia, a web platform that
connects about 1500 children, adolescents and
family therapists all around Italy and promote
Oaklander Model, Gestalt and humanistic approaches
with children. Giandomenico is a contributing
member of Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation,
trainer and supervisor for the model and Gestalt
Play Therapist certified by Felicia Carroll and

Sabina Zijadić Husić
Psychotherapist
Born on 25.01.1976, married, mother of two.
Graduated psychologist, a gestalt psychotherapist
and integrative psychotherapist for children and
adolescents. She finished primary and secondary
school in Sarajevo, where she also has graduated
from the Faculty of Philosophy, Department of
Psychology in 2001. In 1999 she started to gain
working experience by volunteering in programs for
psychosocial support and help to children affected
by war. Since 2000 she was working on an
experimental program with a group of gifted
children in the preschool institution. In 2001 she
was engaged in the NVO World Vision project, by
working with children and adolescents traumatized
during the war. During the project, she was
working on providing support, counselling and
psychotherapeutic treatment for parents and
teachers. Since 2009, she has been engaged in the
Center for hearing and speech rehabilitation in
Sarajevo, working with children with damaged
hearing and speech development disorders. Within a
private practice, she was working as a
psychotherapist with young children and adults,
through individual and couples’ therapy, as well
as workshops for personal growth and development.
Since the establishment of the Interdisciplinary
Therapeutic Center for the Protection of Children,
Young People, and Family BHIDAPA, she was engaged
in the positions: deputy director of BHIDAPA,
psychotherapist, supervisor, and the assistant in
teaching an educational program for children’s and
adolescent integrative psychotherapy and
counselling.
Joanna Hewitt Evans, MSc
Psychotherapist, supervisor
Gestalt Psychotherapist UKCP, EAIP Integrative
Psychotherapist, Supervisor, is director of
EUROCPS, the European Centre for Psychotherapeutic
Studies founded by the late Ken Evans. She is vice
chair external relations, EIATSCYP and a visiting
trainer on psychotherapy training programmes in
several countries in Europe. She has a particular
interest in the links between shame, attachment,
trauma and affect regulation. Prior to becoming a
psychotherapist Joanna's background was in
therapeutic social work with children and families
and she spent many years managing projects related
to abuse. Family and friends, children and

Associate professor at the Faculty of Philosophy,
University of Banja Luka, in the department of
educational and school psychology. She has been
focusing on her interest in children and
adolescent psychology for 18 years, working in the
field of mental health of children and young
people in the educational system, both in the
scientific - research work, as well as REBT
psychotherapist under supervision in recent years.
She is particularly concerned with examining the
internalising and externalizing responses of
children and youth in the school environment. In
addition to scientific - research work, she is

Dr. Oana Maria Popescu
Psychotherapist
Oana Maria Popescu is a trainer and supervisor in
integrative psychotherapy, integrative child and
adolescent psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, expressive
therapies and coaching, founding president of the
Association for Integrative Research, Counseling
and Psychotherapy in Romania. She is the training
standards officer with the European Association
for Integrative Psychotherapy, member of several
European and International Professional
Associations, editor-in-chief for the Journal of

Mia Roje Đapić, MSc
Psychologist
Mia Roje Đapić is a psychologist in Child and
Youth Protection Center of Zagreb, also a PhD
student in prevention science. She is currently
finishing child and adolescent integrative
psychotherapy training, and had completed a
four-year training in integrative psychotherapy,
as well as shorter trainings in other
psychotherapeutic modalities (art therapy, play
therapy, TFCBT, emotional focused therapy,
attacment based therapy). She is an NLP
practitioner and master, long-term Brave Phone’s
volunteer, educator and supervisor. She is an
executive editor of the book “Science and Art of
Nurture”, in which authors several chapters, and
also a co-author of book “Child in the center (of
conflict)”. She coordinated a national research
about preschoolers’ Screen Time, published several
expert and scientific papers, as well as
contributed to many national and international
child protection conferences. She is an EAPAP’s
member and was a member of organizational board of
their European conference this year. She worked as
an educator in UNICEF, OSCE and Terres de Hommes
projects.
Corina Elena Antoaneta Levu
Psychotherapist
Corina Elena Antoaneta Levu is a trainer in
integrative child and adolescent psychotherapy and
head of the child psychotherapy department at the
Association for Integrative Research, Counselling
and Psychotherapy in Romania. She is also
specialised in family psychotherapy, speech
therapy and integrative psychotherapy, and a
supervisor in the area of special therapy and
pedagogy for children with disabilities. Corina
has been working as a speech therapist in a school
for special needs children since 1998 and as a
child psychotherapist since 2005. She is currently
teaching child psychotherapy and expressive
therapies.
Katarina Višić, MD
MD and psychotherapist
Katarina Višić is graduated from the Faculty of
Medicine in Belgrade and specialized in Rational
Emotional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and
acquired the title of RE & KBT psychotherapist. In
recent years, she has been educating and focusing
on working with children and adolescents. She is
currently in the final year of education in Child
and Adolescent Integrative Psychotherapy. In her
practice she uses an integrative approach:
rational emotional cognitive behavioral therapy,
acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), schema
therapy (schema therapy, Jeffrey Young) and
dialectical behavioral therapy. She is the founder
of the Center for Psychotherapy and Psychological
Counseling Dr Visic in Belgrade, Serbia.
Maja Tursunović is Manager of the project "Justice
for Every Child" implemented by the Criminal
Policy Research Center, Sarajevo in cooperation
with UNICEF BiH. Born in 1977 in Sarajevo. She
graduated from the Faculty of Special Education
and Rehabilitation at the University of Tuzla
(2002) on the inclusion of children with
disabilities in the regular education system, and
received her master's degree in Management of
State and Humanitarian Organizations from the
Center for Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Studies
at the University of Sarajevo (2012). At the
beginning of her career, she worked in civil
society organizations in BiH in jobs that included
working with children and people with
disabilities. From 2006 to 2018, she worked in the
international organization "World Vision in BiH".
In that period, in addition to designing and
managing programs and processes, she focused her
work on the child protection sector and through an
advisory role dedicated her commitment to the
welfare of the most vulnerable children in BiH.
During her career, she participated in several
studies that addressed the vulnerability of
children in BiH, the phenomenon of child neglect
and other topics related to the current migrant
crisis in BiH.
Teodora Minčić
spec. med. psih.
Teodora Minčić is a psychologist, a specialist in
Medical Psychology. Since 1993, she has been
working with children and adolescents at the
Clinic for Children and Adolescents at the
Institute of Mental Health in Belgrade. In 2003
she completed her specialization in Medical
Psychology. Besides psychodiagnostic work with
children and adolescents, her main area of
interest is working with children who were abused
and neglected, or exposed to manipulation during
the divorce process. She has been a member of the
Unit for the Protection of Children against Abuse
and Neglect at the Institute of Mental Health ever
since its establishment in 2000. She has also been
a permanent expert witness in the cases related to
children, divorce, abuse and neglect since 2006.
She has participated in the courses related to
training and establishment of the
interdisciplinary teams for the protection of
children from abuse and neglect, organized by
Admire and Intercare from the Netherlands, Save
the Children, and the Team for Child Protection of
the Seattle Children’s Hospital. She continued her
education by paying regular visits to the Zagreb
Child and Youth Protection Center. She took part
in training and supervision related to parental
alienation, organized by Dr. Karen Woodall and
Nick Woodall at the Center in 2019. Since 2010,
she has been an educator in the project ‘Child and
adolescent violence prevention’ organized by the
Ministry of Health of the Republic of Serbia and
the World Health Organization, and she also
participated in the making of the handbook related
to this program. She is also an educator in the
project of the Ministry of Health of the Republic
of Serbia called ‘The implementation of the
special protocol of the healthcare system in the
protection of children from abuse and neglect’ and
one of the editors of the 2012 and 2019 editions
of the handbook and the poster related to this
project. She is the author of the chapters in this
handbook which tackle the issues of children who
witness domestic violence and parental
manipulation in the divorce process. She has been
an educator in the project „The divorce end child
protection“ for the judicary experts and experts
in social welfare organized by the Child Rights
centre in2020.
Elma Omersoftić, MSc
Psychologist, Psychotherapist
Elma Omersoftić je magistar psiholoških nauka u
području nasilja u zajednici među mlađim
adolescentima. Rođena je u Sarajevu, 1983. godine.
Zaposlena kao psiholog u osnovnoj školi već 14
godina. Diplomu Certificiranog psihoterapeuta
Transakcione analize stiče u Oslu u julu, 2013.
godine. Psihoterapijsko iskustvo u individualnom i
grupnom radu sa djecom i adolescentima stekla je
kroz rad u školi. 10 godina bavi se psihoterapijom
sa odraslima. Sa BHiDAP-om sarađuje kao
individualni psihoterapeut za edukante iz Dječije
i adolescentne integrativne psihoterapije.
Supervizorica je na Programu sekundarne prevencije
neprihvatljivih oblika ponašanja i zaštite djece u
Kantonu Sarajevo ispred Ministarstva za
obrazovanje nauku i mlade već 5 godina. Autorica
je Priručnika o prevenciji nasilja nad i među
djecom, kao i naučnih članaka u polju izloženosti
mlađih adolescenata nasilju u zajednici u vidu
direktne žrtve i počinitelja. Angažovana kao
ekspert iz oblasti mentalnog zdravlja djece i
odraslih kao i nasilja među djecom i adolescentima
od strane domaćih i međunarodnih organizacija.
Članica je Interresorne radne grupe Vlade FBiH za
izradu i provođenje Akcionog plana za prevenciju i
borbu protiv terorizma u Federaciji. Učestvuje u
psihoterapijskom radu i reintegraciji žena i djece
povratnica sa Sirijskog ratišta od decembra, 2019.
godine.
Born in 1973 in Subotica. A long-term athlete, he
played football in the club "Spartak" from
Subotica and several smaller clubs. At the end of
his career, he worked as a coach, first in his
home club, in Subotica, and then abroad: in Zurich
and Brussels. After a tragic event in the family,
he returned to Serbia, where he is one of the
founders of the software company "Jiway". In
addition, he founded the "Tijana Jurić" Foundation
in 2015, in order to improve the safety of
children in Serbia. Within the "Tijana Jurić"
Foundation, he held about 400 workshops, lectures
and forums for children, youth, students, parents
and professionals; organized dozens of round
tables, panel discussions, forums, professional
seminars and public debates on child safety,
organized three professional conferences "Safety
and Responsibility", two children's ethno
festivals "Voice of Angels", conducted two
successful advocacy actions and initiated two
legal changes. He received trainings for working
with children on the organization of "Child Focus"
from Belgium, the Center for Missing and Abused
Children, from Osijek, as well as training of the
Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of
Serbia, a basic course for trainers and a
specialist course on peer violence. domestic
violence, high-tech crime, human trafficking and
sectarian activities. In addition to his mother
tongue, Serbian and English, he speaks French,
which he uses every day in business communication.
In the last four years, he has been awarded
various recognitions: listed among the twenty most
important people in Serbia ("Blic" in 2015), "Man
of the Year" (Portal "Mondo" in 2016), "Man of the

Nada Grahovac, PhD

Nada Grahovac was born in Banja Luka, where she
completed primary school and Grammar school. She
graduated from the University of Law in Banja
Luka, as honors student. She passed her bar
examination in 2002., defended her master thesis
in 2008. and in 2013, defended her doctoral
dissertation with the topic 'Institutional Forms
of Human Rights Protection in Bosnia and
Herzegovina'. In accordance with the Decision of
National Assembly, in 2009., she was appointed as
the first Ombudsman for children in Republic of
Srpska, independent institution, which protects,
monitors and promotes the rights of the child and
performed the function in two full terms in
office. She was a participant in a number of
international conferences, with the topic of
promotion and protection of human rights, in
numerous professional meetings and seminars for
protection of rights and interests of children;
she is an active member of Children’s Rights
Ombudsmen Network in South-East Europe and
European Ombudsman Institute. She published
several professional papers in the area of
protection of the rights of the child and
participated in drafting process of a number of
significant documents referring to children and
realization of their rights, such as: Protocol on
the procedure in case of violence, abuse and
neglect of children, Guidelines on assessing and
determining the best interests of the child, Media
in the best interests of the child, Indicators for
monitoring implementation of inclusive education.
Enda Pavić Pečenković

My name is Enda Pavić Pečenković, I am married and
the mother of a nine-year-old girl. I am currently
employed in the Public Institution "Cantonal
Center for Social Work KS" in the Social
Protection Service of the Municipality of Centar,
where I hold the position of head of the Service.
By profession I am mr. social work. I completed
Reality Therapy and acquired the title of advisor
in the field of Reality Therapy. Also, I completed
two years of education in Family Systemic Therapy.
I am in the process of acquiring the title of
psychotherapist from EMDR education. As a social
worker with extensive experience, I have had the
opportunity to work with many vulnerable and
at-risk groups of children as well as their
families. I believe that many negative things in a
child's behavior can be resolved in the family, of
course with the adequate help of professionals and
with the appropriate interaction of all actors.
Advija Hajdo Balta, M.L.
Head of Juvenile Division
Advija Hajdo Balta was born in 1955 in Ilijaš. She
completed elementary education and Second
Gymnasium Sarajevo as the youngest student of
former Yugoslavia. She received her undergraduate
and Master’s degrees from the University of
Sarajevo Faculty of Law. She worked as
Professional Associate of the BiH Administrative
Court as well as BiH Court of Joint Work, then as
Secretary in Republic and Federal Public
Prosecutor’s Office. She worked as Deputy
Prosecutor of the Municipal Prosecutor’s Office II
in Sarajevo in 2002. She was appointed Prosecutor
within the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office in
2003, where she served as Head of General Criminal
Division, Head of Special Unit, and Acting Deputy
Chief Cantonal Prosecutor. She has been Head of
Juvenile Division since the beginning of 2020. She
is an educator in juvenile delinquency.
Sanela Škaljić
Juvenile Prosecutor
Sanela Škaljić, born in 1979 in Sarajevo, where
she completed her elementary education and First
Gymnasium Sarajevo. She graduated in 2005 from the
University of Sarajevo Faculty of Law. She worked
as an intern and legal assistant from 2006 to
2010. She was appointed Professional Associate of
the Municipal Court in Sarajevo in 2010, where she
worked until 2016 when she was appointed by the
BiH High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council as
Prosecutor within the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s
Office. She has been working since 2017 within the
Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office Juvenile
Division. She is an educator in juvenile
delinquency.
Maja Kajtaz
Psychotherapist
She was born in 1979 in Mostar. She is married and
mother of two children. She is a graduated grade
teacher and integrative psychotherapist for
children and adolescents. She received the title
of the grade teacher at the Faculty of Education
of the University in Mostar. Since 1998 she was
acquiring her professional experience in working
with children and young people in Oslo, where she
actively participated on the development of
inclusive education in preschool facilities. After
2009, she continues her professional growth and
development in Mostar, she works with preschool
children in inclusive day nursery, primary school,
youth with no parental care. She is active as the
volunteer within the Association „Naša djeca – Our
kids in BiH“, Mostar and she is also the activist
of the Association for Education and Development
„Dignitet“ (Dignity).
Born on July 10, 1966 in Gornji Dubrave near
Tuzla. She started doing athletics in 1982. She
currently works at AK "Sloboda-Tehnograd" in Tuzla
as the director of the Club, and is engaged in the
Special Olympics as the national director. In the
period from 1993 to 1996, she resided in Germany,
where she received a coach's license at the
Faculty of Sports in Darmstadt as a scholarship
holder of the International Olympic Committee, so
after finishing her athletic career she started
working as a coach at AK "Sloboda-Tehnograd"
results. In addition to the coaching license she
received in Germany, she will become a senior
coach and sports manager at the Sports Center in
Banja Luka, and will acquire the title of "Doctor
of Sports Sciences in Sports Management" at the
Pan-European University at the Faculty of Sports
Sciences. Currently engaged at this faculty in the
subjects "ATHLETICS, SPORTS AND RECREATION OF
PERSONS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS and SPORTS MANAGEMENT
.. For the achieved results in athletics, she was
declared the most successful athlete of the city
of Tuzla four times, and twice chosen as the best
athlete of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I have been a
member of the BiH Special Olympics since 2007,
where, according to the Accreditation Rules of the
European Special Olympics, he performs the role of
national director in charge of implementing the
Accreditation Rules of Special Olympics. Through
persistent work and cooperation with the
governmental and non-governmental sector, she
contributed to the BiH Special Olympics being
declared the "Champion of Inclusion" as an
organization that works on evaluating the sports
results of people with disabilities, but also
including this population in all social life.
She was born in Banja Luka in 1977 and is a social
psychologist, a professor at the Psychology Study
Program, the Faculty of Philosophy, the University
of Banja Luka and the responsible teacher for
Social Pathology, Psychology of Crime, Forensic
Psychology and Social-Psychological Studies of
addiction. Her scientific and professional work
is, to a great extent, devoted to studying the
relationship between the process of socialization
and behavior of children at risk, contact and
conflict with law, the application of social

main purpose is diagnostic and treatment of

SANDRA KUKIC was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, in 1971. In 1996, she graduated from
the University of Sarajevo with a degree in
psychology, and further in systemic family
approach within certified programme of European
Association for Family Therapy. Ms. Kukic has over
20 years of experience of professional work in
psychosocial programs focused on child, family and
community development. In course of her career and
professional development has been working in a
number of roles that instigated changes across
board to provide best service to vulnerable
groups, especially children and their families.
Ms. Kukic has extensive experience in topics
related to mental health and psychosocial support,
trauma healing, child protection, child care and
alternative care, prevention and crisis
interventions. Professional assignments are
focused on programming as well as human resources
and organizational development. Ms. Kukic possess
more than 10 years of international experience,
supporting directly changes in child protection
processes and systems in more than 20 countries.
In her professional roles, Ms. Kukic has managed
global, regional and national programs focused on
child protection, assessing quality of child
protection system and coordinating and managing
initiatives and programs aimed at improvements in
the field. Currently working as a consultant to
UNICEF BiH.
